Clark Terry is the greatest! I talk about you daily as I bestow on youngsters and not-so-youngsters your great pedagogical revelation of the “doo-dle-laa” as the key to unlock so many of the great secrets of swing! Thanks a million for all you have given and all you give. Much love and a hallelujah for Clark Terry. Happy Birthday!
From my first recordings I heard of jazz music, to seeing you play live countless times throughout the last 15 years… I can’t thank you enough for the huge inspiration you’ve been to me as a trumpet player… and as a human! Here’s to 91 more years!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your music! Your swingin’ jazz gives me such life and happiness! I’m praying for you. May God surround you with healing love, life, and happiness! You are one COOL cat!
we only met and spoke once briefly CT, when I had the Jazzmania Loft going, but they were words of encouragement and since i’ve been a fan of yours since i can remember, i want to give some back atya: a speeedy recovery 2U, CT!!
You have been a hero of mine since the 1950′s. I first saw you in Birdland in 1954. I would go to Birdland and sit in the peanut gallery and watch you and other greats.
I love your playing and I wish you would hang around another 90 years. You are a national treasure!
Dear Clark,
You know you are our original inspiration to play this music from our days at Turner House. You are my inspiration and role model. Pam and I pray for your speedy recovery and wish you and Gwen all of God’s Blessings.
Hang in there. You are a treasure, a delight and an inspiration to us all. Thanks for all you have given us and I look forward to what you’ll bring next year! (Oh, and could you speak a little more clearly in that song? Can’t understand a word you’re saying.)
